My homemade 3" short ram is made from PVC. It works fine with the JRSC and no part of it gets hot enough to melt or burn. It only cost me about $40 to build...the most expensive part being the K&N.

I ended up going with the Comptech Intake and Icebox. It should be here by Friday, I'll let you know how it works out.

Here's my setup using a generic Eclipse intake:

The intake is cool to the touch even after long trips especially with the double walled heatshield, DEI heat wrap, and cold air ducting installed. In all, it costs about ~$110 for this 3" shortram setup.

Hey zip, where did u buy those heat wrap? Does local pepboys/autozone have some? I need to wrap my intake as well as a/c lines and such..thanks.

Summit sells the DEI heatwrap for $50, but you'll only need half of it for a short ram setup. Sell the unused portion afterwards.
